We source our own Maine hard woods ~ red oak & rock maple ~ to craft our built-to-work, meant-to-last garden trugs & gardening stools.
Based on the traditional English Sussex Garden Trug but crafted with a Yankee twist, to us the Fernwood Cottage Trug Basket is a perfect marriage of practical & beautiful. We hope you agree.
We finish our garden & farm wares with linseed oil. We feel it provides the best finish option for food safety & durability while allowing a lovely, warm patina of the wood to occur. You may maintain your wooden-ware with any food-safe wood conditioner (for example, "cutting-board butter"), allowing you to prolong the working life of your Fernwood Cottage~ware.

Basket size 13"x17"
Perfect for harvesting most flowers/herbs, & soft fruits, but will stand up to hauling weeds or a few Pie Pumpkins. Red Oak handle, rim, & feet with copper nails. Our most popular for the pragmatic gardener. can handle most any job & is closest to the "traditional" Sussex Trug. Red Oak handle, rim, & feet with copper nails.
